This painting is inspired by pouring over  aerial  shots of Australian rivers, in particular the pink rivers in WA. It took about 20 hours to paint and has many, many layers. Under the top layer are 100 other differently flowing rivers which i think is cool because rivers bend and change like that daily creating new shapes. While painting I spent a lot of time reflecting on how systems in nature are reflected in our own bodies such as rivers looking like capillaries and how both carry water vital for survival.
